ABOUT CROSSFIT 998 CLUB

CrossFit 998, formerly CrossFitTashkent, is one of the first CrossFit boxes in the city which has been swiftly developing and improving year by year. Our box stands at the headspring of the CrossFit community in Tashkent and has now officially obtained affiliation with CrossFit HQ. We strive to continuously develop our box as well as our staff members as we believe that happy customers are at the core of a good CrossFit box.

So what is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a training system consisting of constantly varying functional exercises performed at high intensity. CrossFit was originally developed as a comprehensive training modality for elite special forces, police and military personnel in the United States, which has now been spread throughout the world. Since 2001, the popularity of the program began to quickly grow, and now it is available to anyone, anywhere.

The aim of the program is to improve one's health through the improvement of these 10 domains: strength, power, agility, stamina, speed, endurance, flexibility, coordination, accuracy and balance.

We invite you to "dip'' into the most demanding, fun and energetic training program where you will be able to reach new heights! The program will allow you to improve the composition of your body, and as a positive side effect, help you get rid of that stubborn fat without following any strict diet plans and supplements. Our programming is focused on achieving real results through hard work and dedication.

As you are aware, the first training session is free, you are more than welcome to drop by anytime!

 

OUR STAFF

 
Garri is our head trainer and holds a CrossFit Trainers Certificate (CrossFit Level 1 Trainer) as well as a Certified Totalfit L1 trainers certificate. Super nice guy, and athlete in his own right.
Gavhar is a three-time free-style wrestling champion as well as a two-time boxing champion of Uzbekistan among women. She has won numerous prizes on the regional level and possesses excellent coaching skills and a great personality.
Besides being an excellent trainer, Danil also has a deep understanding of the importance of that nutrition has in relation to body composition. Danil can easily help you with maximizing the effects of your trainings through proper nutrition.

    I have been looking for something new for a long time – something which will help me quickly tone my body, lose weight and generally look better in a mirror. This is when I came across CrossFit. Prior, my life revolved around my office job, and I just quit smoking and decided that it was time to get myself into shape. A friend of mine dragged me to my first training session and I was completely unfamiliar with this program. The first session was, to be frank, testing, to say the least. I was not sure that I will be able to make it back home as my legs were trembling, but I still kept coming back for more. By the time of my third training session came around (yes, I came back), I remember well how I came home and just laid on the floor for half an hour, completely motionless. My son ran up to me, asking how I was as my replies were impassive. Today, it’s been over a year that I’ve been a part of the CrossFit 998 box, and I can honestly say that I started seeing obvious results in 3-4 months. As my body composition was improving, I decided to take it to the next level and eat clean in order to further develop my physique. Healthy food is not a diet, it's a permanent condition. Having changed my food intake, I began seeing even more positive results. Overall, I have lost over 10 kilos within a year, which I think is amazing! There are people who after taking one or two CrossFit classes do not return back, and I relate it to the thought that CrossFit is not for the weak (both physically and mentally). It's also a big mistake to expect immediate results. Getting yourself in shape is a job. You really have to put in the effort, sometimes on the edge, but the subsequent feeling of euphoria makes up for all the tears and sweat! BUT, it's also important to understand the purpose of your workouts as if you only want a nice butt and nothing else, CrossFit might not be for you. If you want a toned and hard body, strength, endurance as well as other skills, then CrossFit is for you! If you want a supporting community that is rooting for you and makes you progress, then again, CrossFit is right for you. And finally, do you want a coach who will shout your name and make you improve yourself even though you think you can’t? Then again, CrossFit is right for you.

    The advantages of CrossFit are overwhelming: a full training session in a short period of time (usually, the workout does not take more than 20 minutes), diversity of the workouts (anyone will quickly find his/her strengths and weaknesses), and a full-body functional training. Another positive side-effect is, of course, the building of your character and willpower, because sometimes you feel like stopping, but you know that it would be a shame if you did not finish the workout. You can build training both to increase strength, to increase your stamina and endurance, lose weight, gain weight, or simply to stay in shape.

    This is just the meaning of life. In June 2018, I was looking for a gym on Instagram and came across their page. Bluntly, I did not know what CrossFit was and started doing some research on the internet to find out. I ended up going to my first training session and I must say right away, it was initially difficult, both physically and mentally. The overall reason I started going to CrossFit was to lose weight, and yes, I started to lose weight! Even though it was hard, with every training, I liked CrossFit more and more. Thanks to my dedication to the training sessions and a moderate diet, I lost 11 kg and that’s not the end of it. Moreover, I became stronger, my endurance improved, and in general, I began to feel much better. Before, I would have never thought that I would be able to lift heavy barbells, as I would never lift anything heavier than a 20 kg barbell in the regular gyms previously. As another positive development, I got to meet and befriend very nice people through CrossFit, while learning a lot while learning a lot of new things, since CrossFit 998 is a big caring family with which I feel at home. The training sessions are quick and seamless - our trainers never let us get bored, as we area always tasked with doing something, but at the same time we always have a chance to have a friendly chat and to crack a joke. Through the programming of CrossFit, and especially due to our trainers, I realized what I am capable of, opening new horizons in my physical abilities. It has been over a year that I’ve been a part of this box, and I have never regretted that I went to CrossFit 998.

USEFUL INFORMATION FOR BEGINNERS!

Today was your first visit to our box, and we were very happy to see you! As you have probably already noticed, CrossFit is an intense program, and even if you have been to a regular gym recently, we want to warn you that you will most likely feel some muscle soreness in the next couple of days. But don’t be afraid, the muscles will recover quite quickly. The issue is that such a regimen heavily stresses the body’s muscles and other systems, which in turn contributes to the acceleration of one’s metabolism.

It is no coincidence that today, the CrossFit training program is used to improve one’s physical fitness in other traditional sports - it truly allows you to properly and quickly increase your strength, speed, endurance as well as other areas. You will soon develop toned and dynamic muscles very soon.

Below are some guidelines for recovering from a workout:

1. Drink more fluids, at least 2 liters per day.

2. Eat more protein, do not forget about vitamins

3. Take a hot bath.

4.Despite the soreness, do a light workout, stretch the muscles out.

5. Do not miss the next workout. It will not be worse than the first one, and with each passing session, will feel stronger and more confident.
